Gail and Nathan Hartley, Lib Dem campaigner at the Energy Efficiency stall at Green Park Station As Councillor .......
Gail, as Bath and North East Somerset Council's Energy Champion has been the prime mover to get energy efficiency and renewable energy into the planning policies. Most recently she persuaded full council to agree to use planning policy statement 22 in order to focus on renewable energy in new developments. The Western Riverside development in Bath will require at least 10% of its power source to be from renewable energy. Development Control Committees will also be encouraging ordinary householders to put in energy efficiency measures whilst giving help and guidance for renewable energy installations.

As Politician .......
Recent boundary changes have turned Wansdyke into North East Somerset. This means some of it is now north of Bath whereas areas north of Keynsham have become a part of Kingswood.

Gail says "The boundary changes have convinced the Tories that they can win North East Somerset but Lib Dems believe that as there is now no need for tactical voting Lib Dem voters should revert to their natural voting pattern. Statistical evidence shows that this could bring all three parties very close together in the next General Election. There is now no point voting for the sitting Labour MP when Lib Dem voters can simply vote for their favourite candidate."
